Art Anderson Associates provided engineering consulting services to the City of Bremerton for a project to investigate the relocation and consolidation of Parks Department functions. The Department wanted to move its base of operations to a soon-to-be-vacated site and consolidate its greenhouses and plant materials at that location.

Our personnel began the project by meeting with Parks personnel to listen to their concerns and understand their priorities. Parks personnel described how the new facility could make their regular operations more efficient and took AAA personnel on tours of all relevant facilities. We documented each location with notes, measurements and photos and incorporated that data into the final report.

Art Anderson Associates drafted three options for development of the new location. For each option, we included drawings illustrating its associated upgrades and renovations. We indicated the square footage and purpose of each room at the new location and developed multi-phase cost estimates for each option. Finally, each option was described in written text and a data table that visually contrasted the existing facilities with the desired results and proposed facilities of each option.

We compiled all this information and presented it to Parks Department supervisors. After discussing the merits of each, the supervisors considered each option and responded with a compilation of the three options into a "preferred" option. We prepared drawings, cost estimates and a written analysis for this option.

The result is a detailed plan for the consolidation and relocation of important parks functions. The Department has considered our recommendations and is moving forward with these cost-saving measures.
